If you require emergency medical care call 000.

Don't hesitate to call if you're not sure if the situation is an emergency. If in doubt, call 000 anyway.

Calling an ambulance can be the difference between life and death.

Swansea has a volunteer ambulance service with dedicated health professionals on call 24 hours a day.

Depending on the severity of the emergency, patients will be assessed and treated in the Emergency Room or transferred directly to the Royal Hobart Hospital or Launceston General Hospital.

For emergency medical care that does not require an ambulance and is not life threatening, contact Swansea Medical Practice located at May Shaw Health Centre (phone 6257 8205).

The Emergency Room is for emergency medical treatment only. Non-emergencies and existing medical conditions will be referred to the Swansea Medical Practice.
